THE Ulster Orchestra will mark its golden anniversary by attempting 50 pop-up performances in and around Belfast city centre on Wednesday September 28.
Passers-by can expect to encounter members of the Orchestra–- ranging from soloists, ensembles and the full orchestra itself – as they strike up their music in a number of different locations including business premises, hotels, schools, universities, hospitals, cafes, museums and arts centres.
Morning commuters at Belfast City Airport and the Europa Bus station will also be entertained, while a 'pop-up' performance will be staged for locals and unsuspecting tourists visiting the Titanic Museum.
The musicians will then come together in their entirety at 1pm in Victoria Square Shopping Centre and again at 6.30pm in St Anne’s Cathedral for two hour-long performances, where they will be joined by the Belfast Philharmonic Choir.
All events throughout the day are free and open to the public.
