James Nesbitt film services firm G&H in profits boost

A FILM and television services company owned by Coleraine actor James Nesbitt made more than £56,000 in profits last year.

G&H Film and Television Services, based in Holywood, provides vehicles to the film industry across Northern Ireland.

The trucks have become a common sight around the north in recent years when productions such as The Fall and Game of Thrones are in town.

The company provides the full gambit of vehicles required on film sets from dining cars to wardrobe trucks as well as toilet blocks and even a rain machine.

The business also has a range of motors for use on screen such as marked police cars and army vehicles.

According to the latest set of financials at Companies House, the firm's profit and loss account shows £128,895 at June 2015, compared to £72,513 the previous year.

The files show the company's total assets reduced slightly to £1.11m from £1.36m after liabilities - which increased to £164,381 from £122,603 - were taken into account.

The company is 60 per cent owned by Brown Cow Films of which Mr Nesbitt also has a majority shareholding.

Mr Nesbitt invested in G&H in 2012 but its history stretches beyond that.

Former credits include the television series Ballykissangel - on which Mr Nesbitt got his break - as well as Father Ted, and films as wide ranging as Saving Private Ryan, Braveheart and Michael Collins.

Brown Cow Films, which Mr Nesbitt owns with his estranged wife Sonia Nesbitt.

Its latest profit and loss account stood at £2.6m for the year to March 2015 compared to £2.48m in 2014.

The accounts also show cash at the bank and in hand rising to £825,921 from £352,291

The company paid a £25,500 dividend to Mr Nesbitt while Mrs Nesbitt received £8,500.
