BOOK retailer Waterstones has confirmed plans to open a seventh store in Northern Ireland.
The high street chain is set to take on a unit at the Forestside Shopping Centre on the outskirts of south Belfast later this year.
The announcement comes just eight months after Waterstones opened a new store in Derry’s Foyleside Shopping Centre.
And it comes just two years after Irish book and stationery retailer Eason confirmed the closure of its seven Northern Ireland outlets.
Waterstones made its Forestside announcement via an Instragram post.
The company said: “We are opening a new shop in Belfast’s best loved shopping centre and are looking for excited and passionate people to join our team.”
The retailer said anyone interested in the new positions should send in their CV before July 15.
The opening date of the new store has not been confirmed, but Waterstones went public on its new Foyleside outlet six weeks before it opened.
The new Derry store joined shops in Coleraine, Newry, Ballymena, Lisburn and Belfast.
The city centre building where Waterstones is based in Belfast went on the market last week for £13.3 million.
However, there is no suggestion of the book retailer leaving the premises, with the company renewing a five-year lease in 2020.
Waterstones was acquired in 2018 by US-based hedge fund Elliott Advisors.
The fund also owns American bookseller Barnes & Noble.
