CARRYDUFF are the first team through to the quarter-finals of this year’s Morgan Fuels Down SFCafter a comfortable victory over their city rivals Bredagh in Liatroim.

The platform for the win was built on Joe Tunney’s early goal, the first score of the game, and the winners never relinquished the lead from there.

They led by 1-3 to 0-4 at half-time and then went on an unanswered scoring streak in the third quarter before running out 1-12 to 0-6 winners.

Bredagh’s title hopes are not dead yet as they will face one of the four winners from this weekend’s games involving last week’s round-one losers.

Two of those four games will be played on Friday evening, with Downpatrick facing Liatroim and Castlewellan taking on Glenn. Tomorrow Loughinisland meet Saul, while Longstone and Warrenpoint meet on Sunday.

There are three other games involving round-one winners between Saturday and Monday. On Saturday, Burren face Mayobridge at Pairc Esler, while Bryansford and Ballyholland meet on Sunday and Kilcoo clash with Clonduff on Monday
