If there’s one thing British politics has taught us over the last few years, it’s that referendums are bitter, divisive things.
But, with yet another poll on the horizon, there is something everyone seems to agree on: we absolutely should not be calling any new vote on Scottish independence Scexit.
Oh God we're gonna be stuck with Scexit as a word now, aren't we? #indyref2

We cannot agree on much but at least lets agree to NOT call it #scexit We accepted #brexit (somehow) but this madness has to stop #indyref2

we're not calling it Scexit, ok? https://t.co/MePVFmK8NR

If I hear a single person say Scexit on TV I'm jumping off the Tay bridge

Whatever happens, please, please let's not make 'ScExit' a thing.

Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon today confirmed her intention to call a fresh vote to give Scots a choice between Brexit and leaving the UK.Before that though, it might be necessary to have a vote on what it should be called – and at the moment, it’s clear that Scexit would not be popular.
Can ?? we ??not ?? make ?? 'scexit' ?? a ?? thing ?? #indyref2
— Tyler (@thequipton) March 13, 2017
Can we all agree now to not make "Scexit" a thing. PLEASE.
— Michael Craig (@MichaelCraig96) March 13, 2017
Please, please do not make Scexit a thing, we've been through enough, we cannot be forced to say SCEXIT
— Emma Kelly (@TooManyEmmas) March 13, 2017
As for alternatives, we’re not 100% sure about any of these…
Potential #indyref2 monikers: Joxit. Scexit. IrnBrexit. Whiskit. Heroexit. Shortbrexit.
— Simon Jones (@specseducation) March 13, 2017
…but this seems to be a good option.
NOTICE: Use of the term "Scexit" will result in a written warning. Second use is punishable with blocking. Acceptable alternative is "ScOut"

Or, taking it one step further, this.
More convinced than ever that Scotland leaving the UK should be called Scoot and not Scexit.

Anything but Scexit.
