Foreign Office minister Tobias Ellwood has been hailed as a hero after trying to help save the life of a police officer killed in the terror attack outside Westminster.
The Conservative MP, who used to be a soldier, gave the officer mouth-to-mouth and attempted to stem the flow of blood amid the chaos going on around him in New Palace Yard.
People on Twitter have been praising his actions.

Today shouldn't be party political. Well done to Tobias Elwood for reverting to type and digging in.

Tobias Elwood. That's how someone should behave when faced with that incident.

As well as some of his colleagues.
Huge respect for my friend @Tobias_Ellwood MP who tried to save the stabbed policeman, and staunch blood from multiple stab wounds. In vain.

@Tobias_Ellwood is an absolute hero for what he did to help the policeman this afternoon!

Photos of the believed attacker being treated by police have also been a topic of discussion on social media.
While many have expressed their anger at why the attacker was given any treatment at all, others have come to the defence of the emergency services.
Can't imagine how hard it must be to treat the attacker at the same time as treating the victims ??

I'm shocked at how people are slating the extremely hard working ambulance service for treating the 'attacker', they're doing their job ffs!

Testament to our amazing emergency services that they attend not only the victims but also the perpetrator #Civilisation #Westminster
