Cristiano Ronaldo is set to star as a superhero in an animated series for kids.
Striker Force 7 will see the Real Madrid superstar leading a team of heroes across platforms from animation and comics to gaming and digital content.
Deadline Hollywood have compared the series to Michael Jordan’s 1996 film Space Jam.

“I have always been a fan of superheroes and I’m thrilled to help to create this new animated series,” the 33-year-old forward said.
“In the same way football connects cultures and people around the world, I believe great animated characters and heroes can do the same and that’s why I am excited to bring together these passions of football and superheroes through this project and share it with my fans.”

Ronaldo will act as an executive producer on the show alongside Sharad Devarajan of Graphic India, who are making it in partnership with VMS Communications.
“CR7 is a real-life superhero to a generation and Striker Force 7 will bring together a global team of characters from our world (and others), that are representative of the diversity and coolness of his millions of fans,” said Devarajan.
A release date for the series has yet to be announced but the developers say fans can keep up to date by visiting www.strikerforce7.com.
