Student Ciara Gan from the Philippines is being likened to a “Disney princess” after photos of her hand-made graduation dress went viral on Twitter.
The dress, which took about a month to design and make, was hand-painted with flowers and sewn with the help of her mother.
Posting photos of the dress to Twitter, Ciara said: “I made and painted my own gown for my graduation ball! I painted over 80 flowers, sewed and stoned my dress with my mama and designed the whole thing myself!”

The gown was made to celebrate graduating from high school and going to university, where Ciara will be studying computer sciences.
Ciara said: “I decided to design my own dress because my mum suggested it in the first place. Since it was my last high school event, I wanted to make something special that really reflected who I was – a creator.
“That’s why I decided to make something that I’ve never made before!
“My mum played a huge role in making this all possible!”
The photos of the dress reached more than 80,000 retweets on the website, and Twitter users piled on praise for the design.
@Disney this should be your next princess. I'll wait patiently.

Now THIS is a dress I would pay $500+ to wear, I can’t get behind the trend of buying really expensive dresses that hundreds of other girls have. https://t.co/w5LG1sLpOw

Ciara said: “Seeing as I had so much fun making my dress for our ball, I think I would (make a dress again).
“I think every artist sees the flaws in their works but all in all I am happy with what I’ve made.
“I have ideas already in mind that I want to try out.”
