Spotting a Loot Llama is a rare sight in the Fortnite world, so you can imagine how lucky fans of the game felt to spot the creatures in the real world.
The elusive piñatas have been popping up in cities across Europe – including London, Barcelona, Paris, Cannes, Warsaw and Cologne.
Two were seen around London – one in a phone box in Covent Garden, while another was seen with its head hanging out of a black cab.
Loot Llamas usually come with a decent amount of material in Fortnite: Battle Royale, so naturally gamers have been trying to prise them open, but so far, to no avail.
“No extra clues around it…. although there were clear visible screws on the padlocks,” David Raymond told Reddit users. “No other obvious screws anywhere else on the Llama. (I didn’t have a screwdriver on me).”
Players are now trying to figure out what it all means and whether it’s a hint to something in the game.
Some have wondered whether the position of the llamas are pointing towards something. Others have mapped the locations out to see if the points suggest anything else.
As the excitement around the next Fortnite update continues to build, other elements from the game have been bleeding into the real world too.

In what appears to be a stunt to build hype around the upcoming Season 5 update to the game – which is expected to see the in-game world shift to a brand new location – one of its most famous landmarks was stumbled upon by an unsuspecting photographer in the California desert.

Sela Shiloni tweeted that he had been out scouting possible locations for upcoming photoshoots when he stumbled upon a giant burger, complete with eyes and a tongue.
According to Sela and several others who subsequently visited the site, a man identifying himself as “Agent #3678” also appeared at the site, along with several signs warning users of “possible effects” of getting to close to the object.
Fortnite fans on social media were quick to identify the object as the sign for the in-game Durr Burger sign, which had recently disappeared from the game as part of an on-going narrative where parts of the Fortnite universe are gradually vanishing as part of an “anomaly”.
What…. is this… I’m in the middle of the desert why is this here??? pic.twitter.com/oTMiGc0Wno

This anomaly was caused by a recent in-game rocket launch, which appeared to crack a forcefield around the island where Fortnite games take place. This crack has now spread throughout the game, with these apparent rifts starting to suck objects out of the game and into another dimension.
The storyline is believed to be developer Epic Games’ way of steadily preparing players for the next season of the Fortnite, each of which introduces a new theme.
The developer has not commented on the mysterious real-world events, but it appears to be using it as a new way to build excitement ahead of the game’s next season.
