GARDA immigration officers at a port in Co Wexford discovered 14 people yesterday hidden in the back of a refrigerated truck arriving from France.

The 12 men and two women were found after the Irish Ferries Oscar Wilde ferry docked at about 2pm at Rosslare Europort.

All 14 people, including one juvenile, were found inside a refrigerated trailer unit.

All were yesterday said to be in good health, although one man was taken to Wexford General Hospital as a precaution.

The ship had sailed from Cherbourg in France on Saturday night.

It is expected that the people found will all be referred to the refugee application process.
