Arrest after man injured in reported stabbing in Co Antrim

Incident happened in Doagh area on Thursday

A man has been arrested following a report of a stabbing in Co Antrim.

Police received a report shortly after 1pm on Thursday that a man had been stabbed in the Anderson Court area of Doagh.

Emergency services arrived at the scene and found two men with injuries.

A man in his 30s sustained a wound to his head and the back of his neck, and was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries police said are not believed to be life-threatening.



A 55-year-old man had minor injuries to his head and hand, and was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a blade or point in a public place.

He remains in police custody on Thursday evening.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Enquiries to establish the circumstances of this assault are ongoing, and we would appeal to anyone with information that could help our investigation to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 674 of 15/08/24.”
