In an Twitter poll conducted yesterday, Irish News readers voted against inviting US President Donald Trump to the north.
The idea was floated publically yesterday after it emerged Arlene Foster and Martin McGuinness had sent an invite to the controversial politician shortly before the Stormont assembly collapsed last month.
Readers voted against the idea by a margin of 70 per cent to 30 per cent.
Signed by both Mrs Foster and Mr McGuinness and dated November 9, the ministers said: "We wish you every success in your new role and we extend an invitation to visit Northern Ireland. You can be assured of a warm welcome."
Yesterday, however, Sinn Féin's new northern leader Michelle O'Neill said an invitation for Donald Trump "would not now be appropriate" due to his policies on immigration.
Last night up to 200 people took part in a protest against President Trump at Belfast's US Consulate.
Could a visit to the Giant's Causeway be on the cards?
Maybe the Dark Hedges?
How about St George's Market in Belfast?
Or perhaps the native New Yorker would feel closer to home at Broadway (Roundabout)
