A COLLISION between a bus and a tractor in Newtownards has left one person in a serious condition in hospital.

A total of 11 people were taken to the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald following the crash on the Belfast Road at around 4.10pm yesterday.

A number 10 Ulsterbus, the front of which was extensively damaged, was involved in a collision with a tractor.

The tractor overturned in the crash.

Police closed the road in both directions for several hours yesterday.

One patient remains in a serious condition today.

Another patient was described as stable, while the remaining injured were “comfortable”.
