POLICE have appealed for information after a cyclist was found unconscious at the side of a road in Co Fermanagh.

The injured man, who is 25-years-old, was discovered on Cornagrade Road in Enniskillen during the early hours of Saturday.

He last night remained in hospital where he is being treated for a "serious head injury".

Police have appealed for anyone who was in the area to contact them.

A police spokesman saidhe was cycling close to the Methodist Church in the direction of Cherrymount Road Roundabout, at around 2am before being found unconscious "a short time later".

"We are working to establish how he came to be in this positionm" he said.

"We are asking anyone who was in the area between 1.45am and 2.15am and who witnessed what happened, or anyone who captured mobile phone or dashcam footage, to please get in touch with us by calling 101."
