Kildare win the battle while Tyrone and Cavan head for Enniskillen

KILDARE will face Mayo on their own home ground in Newbridge, while Tyrone's game with Cavan will now be in Enniskillen after the GAA caved in to end a two-day dispute over the venue.

Kildare hadbeen adamant since the draw was made on Monday morning that they would only play the game at home in Newbridge, but the GAA fixed the contest for Croke Park after the Lilywhites declined an invitation to nominate a venue when St Conleth's Park was deemed inadequate by CCCC.

The Leinster side said that they would be in Newbridge on Saturday evening regardless, and GAA officials have now backed down on their threat that the game would be declared void and Mayo handed a walkover if Kildare didn't appear in Croke Park.

Ticket sales had been suspended earlier this morning, hinting that a resolution was close.

Tyrone's curtain-raiser with Cavan was expected to stay at the Dublin venue but it too has reverted to the Breffni county's designated 'home' ground.

Kingspan Breffni, is currently unavailable due to resurfacing work on the pitch, and they used Fermanagh's Brewster Park to host Down last weekend.

An arrangement is understood to have been put in place after that game that Cavan would return to Brewster Park if they were given subsequent home advantage in round three.
