ACOUSTIC traditional group Lnasa are coming to an Irish-speaking area of south Co Derry this month. Formed in 1997, the band Kevin Crawford (flutes and whistles), Trevor Hutchinson (double bass), Ed Boyd (guitar), Sen Smyth (fiddle and low whistle) and Cillian Vallely (uilleann pipes and low whistles) have sold more than a quarter of a million albums.
?Founding member Hutchinson, from Cookstown, is a former member of The Waterboys. Other band members have worked with Bruce Springsteen and Cara Dillon. They have played venues such as the Hollywood Bowl, Dublins National Concert Hall, Sydney Opera House and Moscow International House of Music.
The concert will be at An Carn in Carntogher, Maghera. Carntogher is a fast-growing Irish-speaking community.
