FOLK act Na Leanai will launch their debut album with a gig in Co Down this weekend.
The band – Sorcha (vocals, flute, whistles, bodhran), Eimear (vocals, percussion), Ryanne (vocals, fiddle, guitar), Moya (vocals, fiddle) and Fra (vocals, guitar) – are part of the famous Sands family of musicians.
They will launch their album Kindred Roots at the closing concert of the Fiddler’s Green festival in Rostrevor on Sunday. Na Leanai will perform the first half of the gig with The Sands Family performing the second half, before both groups join forces for a finale.
The album was produced by singer-songwriter Matt McGinn and features traditional and contemporary songs with original arrangements. Titles include Saucy Sailor, Jenny Jenkins, The Night is Young, Rambling Irishman and Winter Trees.
