Atlantic Sessions, November 12 to 15, Flowerfield Arts Centre & various venues
THE Atlantic Sessions music festival returns to the north coast next month, bringing over 40 free gigs to bars, hotels and coffee shops across Portstewart, Portrush and Portballintrae.
As usual, there will also be some ticketed headline events at Flowerfield Arts Centre in Portstewart and at Portrush Town Hall.
Female trio Wyvern Lingo bring their haunting harmonies to Flowerfield all the way from Bray on November 13 with support from Dublin 'atmosfolk' duo Sister Saint, Belfast's Hannah McPhillimy will be launching her new EP at Portrush Town Hall on November 14 with opening turns from Owen Denvir and The Limavady Big Band, while Dublin singer-songwriter Paddy Casey headlines the festival's final night at Flowerfield on November 14.
Other artists performing at this year's Atlantic Sessions events include Mandy Bingham, The Vals, Ports, Jessica Doherty, Kaz Hawkins, Rosborough, The Emerald Armada, Old Hannah, Simon Murphy, Manouche, Lonesome George, Cup O'Joe, Son of The Hound, Scorpion Jack and others.
The Sunday Brunch Session on November 15 with BBC Radio Ulster's Ralph McLean will feature some of the festival's favourite artists in action at Flowerfield, and there will also be themed screenings of hit music documentary Amy and the Oscar-winning movie Whiplash to enjoy on November 12 and 15 respectively.
