24: Legacy, starts February 15 on FOX

WITH the threat of global terrorism now greater than ever and Jack Bauer apparently still languishing in a Russian gulag – could these two factors possibly be related? – it's time for a new maverick US government agent to enter the fray in the name of truth, justice and the revival of a lucrative TV franchise.

Thus, Eric Carter (Corey Hawkins) is about to have a Very Bad Day: a special forces soldier who returns home as a hero after his unit snuff a terrorist leader on the most-wanted list, Carter finds himself in hiding from sleeper cells intent on executing him and their deceased leader's plans for a series of devastating attacks.

As the killers close in, Carter reaches out to former Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU) director Rebecca Ingram (Miranda Otto), now on her way to the White House as her US senator husband John's (Jimmy Smits) promising Presidential campaign gathers momentum.

Can Ingram and her contacts at CTU help Carter stay ahead of the terrorists long enough to save the day?

The producers of 24 are promising fans a "fresh take on the same real-time

format" but Hawkins has definitely got big boots to fill as the heir to Jack Bauer's ever-perilous throne.

He'd best hit the ground running when that familiar 24 countdown clock begins bleeping again.
