NEWTOWNARDS comes alive with the sound of guitars this week as the Ards Guitar Festival returns to town until Sunday April 9. Every genre is covered from classical, blues and folk to jazz, bluegrass and rock, with highlights including renowned musicians such as Jon Gomm, Becky Langan, John Feeley, Hugh Buckley, Ronnie Greer, Will McNichol, Joseph Leighton, Sarah McQuaid, Brigid O'Neill and Eilidh Patterson.

Rumours Re-Told will feature a cast of local talents uniting to bring the classic Fleetwood Mac album to life in honour of its 40th anniversary. Performers include Anthony Toner, Stevie Moore, Gary Lutton, Billy Cook, Gavin Ferris, Ken Haddock, Matt McGinn, Suzy Coyle, Ellen Weir, Cormac Neeson, Emer Maguire, The Lazy Flies, Matthew Malcolm, Paul Mahon, Paddy Anderson, Una Clarke and Wookalilly.

International acts this year include Grammy Award winner Amrit Sond and Narciso Saul, while a free event at Ards Arts Centre will find George Lowden in conversation BBC Radio Ulster's Ralph McLean to talk about his passions and the world-famous guitars which bear his name.
