A SPECIAL concert by Zoë Conway, Máirtín O’Connor and Dónal Lunny will be a big draw at the Jim Conway Traditional Music Festival in Plumbridge next month.

Dundalk fiddle player Zoë Conway has performed with everyone from Rodrigo Y Gabriela to Lou Reed: this special festival appearance will see her joining forces with her regular live collaborators Máirtín O’Connor (accordion) of De Dannan and Riverdance fame and Planxty/Bothy Band man Dónal Lunny (guitar and bouzouki) for an intimate show on Friday August 11 at Plumbridge Parochial Hall.

Music workshops with Conway and O'Connor on the morning of Saturday August 12 (10am until 12pm) will offer budding musicians the chance to hone their skills, before the festival closes with a night of song and storytelling with Fear a Ti Tommy Dunne at 9pm.

Named for Plumbridge native and traditional music master Jim Conway, the Jim Conway Traditional Music Festival was founded in 2013 and has continued to bring an eclectic array of traditional music to the town each year since.
