POGUES fans won't want to miss this: Dublin's National Concert Hall will be hosting a special musical 60th birthday tribute to Shane MacGowan next month, featuring the man himself alongside a ton of top guests.
Produced and curated in collaboration with Shane and hosted by John Kelly, the Perspectives: Shane MacGowan 60th Birthday Celebration concert will see The Pogues' man's collaborators, friends and those he has influenced coming together to perform the highlights of his songbook on Monday January 15.
The list of guest performers is pretty impressive: thus far, Nick Cave, Bobby Gillespie, Glen Hansard, Camille O'Sullivan, Johnny Depp, Cerys Matthews, Carl Barat, Lisa O'Neill, Finbar Furey, Glen Matlock and Clem Burke have all signed up to take part.
Joining them will be a newly created band featuring former Pogues members Cáit O'Riordan, Spider Stacy, Jem Finer and Terry Woods, led by musical director Terry Edwards.
