NORTHERN Ireland's annual electronic music festival and conference AVA has just announced a show and special keynote address from Chicago house music master Larry Heard, AKA Mr Fingers.
Heard's appearance at AVA marks Heard's long-awaited northern debut, which will follow his first album release for 13 years in April.
Taking place at S13 on Boucher Road on Friday June 1 and Saturday June 2, this year's AVA music festival will featuring the likes of Floorplan, Bicep, DVS1, Helena Hauff, Kink, Mall Grab, Denis Sulta, Mano Le Tough, Midland, Or:la, Saoirse, Sunil Sharpe, Timmy Stewart, Jordan, Swoose and Cromby and Sally C.
AVA's free daytime conference schedule will run on the same dates at The MAC in Belfast: 2018's programme will include Bicep discussing their acclaimed album and live show, a live Kink masterclass and workshops from Native Instruments and Pioneer DJ.
The AVA team are also curating a special AVA London programme at Hangar next weekend, featuring see live performances from Genius of Time, Ryan Vail, R Kitt, Magnier and Sally Cee, plus three hour sets from Optimo, Saoirse and Or:la with support from Swoose and a free warm-up from DJ Deece, High Hoopse and Dave McDonagh.
