MARC Almond has been announced as a headline act at this year's City of Derry Jazz and Big Band Festival.
The former Soft Cell leader turned solo star will perform at the Millennium Forum on Friday May 3 as the north's biggest jazz festival returns from May 2 to 6.
The 18th edition of the festival will feature artists from all over the world performing at over 50 venues across the city over the May Bank Holiday Weekend. The full 2019 programme will be launched soon.
"To secure a world class artist of Marc Almond’s stature is a huge coup for the 2019 Jazz and Big Band Festival and we look forward to welcoming him to our city for his performance at the Millennium Forum," says John Boyle, mayor of Derry and Strabane.
"Anticipation for the festival is already gathering pace after last year’s record breaking event where over 60,000 came out and sampled the packed five-day programme."
