ATTENTION crime fiction fans: The John Hewitt Society's Summer School in Armagh will be hosting a couple of events relevant to your interests his week, including a discussion on the genre hosted by Co Armagh’s own crime fiction star, Stuart Neville.
The latter event takes place on Friday at The Market Place Theatre & Arts Centre from 2.45pm to 3.45pm and will feature Neville – whose alter ego Haylen Beck had his latest novel, Lost You, published last month – in conversation with best-selling crime novelists Jo Spain and Mick Herron.
Award-winning Newcastle Upon Tyne-born author Herron will be talking about his brand new Jackson Lamb thriller, Joe Country, the sixth of his ongoing Slough House spy series, while Dublin's Jo Spain will discuss last year's number one best-seller The Confession, her new book Dirty Little Secrets and her top-rated DI Tom Reynolds series.
Before that (1.30pm to 2.30pm), critically acclaimed Lancashire-born writer Jo Baker will also be at The Market Place Theatre where she'll be in conversation with Dr Tess Maginess about her 2013 best-seller Longbourn and new book, The Body Lies.
Tickets for both events cost £8 and are available via the Market Place Theatre's box office on 028 3752 1821 or online at Visitarmagh.com/marketplacetheatre.
