TOP comedy double act Grimes and McKee are back at the Lyric Theatre Belfast this month with another Christmas special.
Directed by Frankie McCafferty, Driving Home for Christmas runs from November 19 to January 4, when audiences can join Grimes and McKee at the Dander Inn, one of the many claimants to being the highest pub in Ireland.
It's Christmas Eve and, as a once-in-a-century snowstorm rages, various travellers take refuge in the pub as the roads become impassable. All communication with the outside world has been cut off by the storm and it soon becomes clear that everyone will have to camp out in the Dander until they can be rescued.
When the Superser runs out of gas, they huddle together and tell stories to remind themselves it's Christmas as everyone begins to wonder – are they trapped, or are they prisoners? And will they ever make it out?
Looking forward to the start of the show, director Frankie McCafferty said:
"Grimes and McKee's script is as sharp as a tack, hilariously depicting sane, rational people who descend into snowbound abandon. This is guaranteed to be a classic which will definitely help to get you into the festive mood."
