IN THE wake of 13 sold out shows in 2019, including two dates at The Ulster Hall, comedian Paddy Raff now brings his popular blend of stand-up, character and musical comedy to Belfast's SSE Arena with a brand-new show, Me Myself & Nigel.
Best known for his comedy creation Nigel, the embodiment of every upper middle class Malone Road/BT9 stereotype ever, Raff is marking his two year anniversary as a live comedian in style. Having recently finished a run of sold-out Paddy & Nigel On Tour shows around the north, the first of the west Belfast man's SSE dates on March 7 sold out its 3,500 'theatre format' ticket allocation shortly after going on sale last year – and the second show on April 25 is currently selling fast.
Raff first tried his hand at comedy in March 2018 and his rise to prominence on the local circuit since then has been impressive. After three months on the Belfast comedy scene his fanbase wanted him to put on his first headline show: the feedback was good enough to keep him going to the point where he now has over 40,000 followers on Facebook.
Last year, Raff managed to sell out 13 shows on his Paddy & Nigel Act Their Postcodes tour, two of which were at The Ulster Hall. It was after these gigs that Raff's promoter advised him that the next step just had to be dates at Belfast's SSE Arena.
Once the first of these hometown shows is under his belt, the comedian will be heading over to England for a run of Raff Out Loud shows – including an already sold-out date in London at the Museum of Comedy on March 21 – at which he is set to combine new material with the most popular songs and bits from his remarkable two year long comedy career.
