AN "ALADDIN'S cave" of movie-related items including Star Wars and Doctor Who figures are to be auctioned off in Belfast next week.
Life-size statues portraying film characters as varied as a Terminator robot and stranded alien ET will be available for sci-fi movie enthusiasts to bid on and possibly bring home to a no doubt delighted spouse or partner.
Highlights include - and let's face it, who wouldn't want these in their home - a 7ft tall Ironman and a frankly scary model of Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka.
There are also a number of vehicles included in the auction, such as a Starsky and Hutch-style Gran Torino and an ice cream van.
Wilsons Auctions’ Group Asset Recovery Manager, Aidan Larkin said, “We are delighted to have been instructed to manage the disposal of a large number of movie memorabilia and replica items including vehicles, props and merchandise as well as retro arcade and collectible games, which are being sold as a result of a police seizure.”
The auction will take place at Wilson's Belfast branch on Mallusk Road, Newtownabbey on Thursday October 26 from 5.30pm. Online bids can also be made.
