CO DOWN trio Ash have just announced a tour celebrating the 20th birthday of their chart-topping debut album 1977.
Tim Wheeler, Mark Hamilton and Rick McMurray will kick-off the anniversary celebrations in Dublin with a gig at The Olympia Theatre on November 10.
And, while no Belfast date has been revealed just yet, you can bet your limited edition Get Ready 7" single that there's one in the post, thus allowing local 30-somethings to relive the teenage rampage of Ash's legendary July 1996 Maysfield Leisure Centre show.
Hopefully, the fact that the majority of the crowd now have a pre-gig ritual that involves briefing a babysitter rather the rapid consumption of an illicitly purchased carry-out won't add too heavy an air of melancholy to proceedings.
"We're as excited as we are in disbelief to announce the 20th anniversary tour of 1977," exclaim Ash.
"Some of these songs have grown with us throughout those years; others have the ability to transport us mentally and emotionally back to that crazy formative year of 1995 to '96.
"These gigs are going to be a trip, trip, trip!"
