THERE'S a very special gig coming up in Belfast in a couple of weeks which will allow music fans to blow off those post-Christmas cobwebs while raising money for a good cause.

Organised by Kev 'Bones' Jones from progressive Belfast punks Empty Lungs, Stay Human is a multi-band bill in aid of the charity Refugee Rescue, which runs a volunteer sea-rescue operation in Lesvos, Greece.

Since 2015, over a million refugees have crossed the Aegean sea from Turkey to this Greek island – and thousands have drowned during their attempt.

Founded by a group of people from Belfast including musician Joby Fox, Refugee Rescue have organised their own search and rescue team using an old RNLI lifeboat, offering assistance to the Hellenic Coast Guard in helping the refugees who routinely make the crossing in unsafe vessels.

The line-up for the benefit show includes an acoustic set from Snow Patrol man Nathan Connolly's alt-rock band Little Matador, Empty Lungs, dreampop trio Beauty Sleep, punk duo Apartments and indie rapsters Bloody Gold – plus a super secret headliner still to be announced.

But who could it be? You'd best buy a ticket if you want to find out.
