AS SPRING gets into full swing, the Festival of Colours looks set to attract a big crowd in Belfast on Sunday week.

The Titanic Exhibition Centre will host the vivid, dye-throwing multi-colour frenzy which is at the heart of the annual Holi festival (the word ‘Holi’ means ‘colour’ in Hindi).

The day will feature music, dance and food and it will also be a day of celebration for ArtsEkta – Northern Ireland’s leading ethnic arts organisation and the force behind the festival – who are marking their 10th birthday.

“This is one of the must ebullient and exuberant events of the year and a colourful way to shake off the winter blues,” said ArtsEkta director Nisha Tandon.

“It’s a high-spirited, fun day out for everyone: just put on your oldest clothes and be prepared to get covered in splashes of multi-coloured dyes and make lots of new friends.”
