CONSTRUCTION services firm Norman Emerson Group has created five jobs as part of a £400,000 expansion.
The Co Armagh business which specialises in the supply of products and services within the construction and landscaping sectors has opened a new Ready-Mixed Plant and carried out major refurbishment of its stone centre showroom out-side Lurgan.
The company's managing director George Emerson said the firm was investing despite continued challenging conditions for the industry.
"You simply can't afford to stand still in business," he said.
"A recent survey from within the construction sector has shown the first increase in construction and manufacturing orders in Northern Ireland since 2007 and that is very positive.
"Our investment ensures that we are ready for any projected upturn whilst providing our existing customers with further assurances of the utmost product conformity."
The new plant is located at the group's headquarters at Ardmore on the Shores of Lough Neagh and has the capability to supply in excess of 100 cubic metres of concrete an hour.
As part of the investment, the group has appointed Paul Lennon as local area sales representative and has also taken on four new drivers.
The stone showroom out-side Lurgan has also been extensively upgraded.
The company imports natural stone products from all over the world to supply to the local marketplace.
Established for more than 60 years, the group extracts sand from Lough Neagh which is then processed and supplied across Ireland.
