A DUNMURRY manufacturer hopes to break into new overseas markets after developing a heat recovery ventilation system which it claims "sets a new industry standard".
Brookvent said its new Aircycle 3.1 is a " best in class product with unrivalled performance, beating major players to the punch".
The product which circulates air around buildings to prevent heat loss, has been developed with research and development support from Invest Northern Ireland.
Exports already count for 35 per cent of Brookvent's sales.
It has an office in Poland and has already sold into China, New Zealand and North America.
High profile projects have included installing systems at King’s Cross, Battersea Reach and Greenwich Peninsula apartments in London.
Brookvent managing director Declan Gormley said the latest product was developed over painstaking research and development process.
"Curiosity led the team through hundreds of tests to make small changes. This might be to the angle of the fan or the shape of the scroll," he said.
"Brookvent has striven to find the smoothest path of airflow within its system, resulting in minimised resistance with maximised output.
"A blend of new blood and existing knowledge and expertise has brought a fresh perspective to the company's ambition and vision for the future."
Brookvent received a £49,438 R&D grant from Invest NI towards the product and earlier benefited from £675,000 from the growth loan fund.
Enterprise minister Jonathan Bell said Brookvent's newest product "reinforces their culture of innovation and commitment to excellence".
“Brookvent has been manufacturing and supplying energy saving ventilation systems to residential construction sectors in the UK and Republic of lreland since 1984. The company now exports products worldwide to Europe, China and New Zealand. The aircycle 3.1, is the latest addition to their award winning heat recovery ventilation system range and has a ‘best in class’ power consumption rating.
“The new product has the potential to open new doors for this innovative manufacturer across Great Britain, Europe and beyond."
