COUNTY Down distillery Rademon Estate is celebrating having won a trio of Awards for Shortcross Gin at The Gin Masters 2016.
The firm swept the board at the competition, which attracts entries from leading spirits brands across the world.
Shortcross Gin clinched the highly coveted ‘Master’ accolade in the Ultra Premium category, whilst the Shortcross Cask Aged Gin and Shortcross Gin Wild Clover Edition each picked up Silver Awards in the Cask and Contemporary categories, respectively.
Founded in 2012 by husband and wife team Fiona and David Boyd-Armstrong, Rademon Estate Distillery is located at the couple’s historic family estate just outside Downpatrick.
The first batch of their lovingly created artisan craft gin, Shortcross was released in 2014 to great local acclaim and has quickly grown to become a firm favourite amongst gin lovers at home and abroad.
Stocked in leading Irish hotels, restaurants and bars including Belfast’s 5*star, Merchant Hotel, James St South, Europa Hotel, Michelin starred restaurant Ox, the Culloden Estate, Castle Leslie in Co Monaghan, The Westbury in Dublin, Ashford Castle in Co. Mayo and The g in Galway, Shortcross has quickly gained the support of Irish gin lovers, high profile mixologists and chefs due to its distinctive, unique taste.
David Boyd-Armstrong said: “We are so proud of the success of our three Shortcross Gin expressions at The Gin Masters. This is a highly competitive and prestigious competition. We are driven by a passion to create the finest premium spirits in Ireland and these awards are a testament to the energy, love and commitment we put into crafting our Shortcross Gin.”
Fiona Boyd-Armstrong added: “We are so passionate about Shortcross Gin and we are delighted that our products continue to strike a chord with gin lovers locally, nationally and internationally. The overwhelming response to the release of our limited edition Cask Aged and Wild Clover editions earlier this year was incredible – it’s wonderful to see our vision coming to life.
“We have big plans for Rademon Estate in the months and years ahead and can’t wait to bring forward new innovations, releasing more new and exciting premium spirits, whilst building on the success of Shortcross Gin.”
