BAKERY and café chain Greggs has opened its third standalone Belfast store, creating 15 jobs.

The opening of premises on the Dargan Road in the Duncrue Industrial Estate follows the establishment of chains in Boucher Retail Park and Royal Avenue in the spring

It comes just days after the chain announced its revenues were up 6 per cent to £422 million for the second half of the year, pushed forward by the success of its healthy eating menu.

The brand specialises in providing quick and easy savouries, sausage rolls and sandwiches and a wide range of drinks.

The café’s new manager Kelly Killen believes the location is a perfect fit for Greggs.

“I’m very excited to be leading the team at our new Greggs shop in one of Belfast’s main business hubs,” she said.

“Duncrue is home to a wide range of businesses and offices, with many colleagues working shifts, so our food-on-the-go offering is perfectly placed to meet their needs throughout the day. We’re really looking forward to bringing them a taste of Greggs.”

Greggs' retail director Raymond Reynolds was equally thrilled at the launch.

He said: “We’re delighted to be able to invest in this thriving business area and believe our new shop will be a great asset for those working in or travelling through the Dargan area – providing a modern, convenient and tasty eating experience for all.”
