ONE of the fastest growing IT services companies in Western Europe is doubling its Belfast workforce with an extra 60 jobs.
Irish IT company Version 1 is investing in its Northern Ireland HQ on the back of winning substantial new business and the firm hopes to have 120 staff in place within two years.
Additionally, the company will be doubling the size of its office space at Cromac Place and expect to move into their adjoining office in Belfast by the end of 2017.
Head of operations at Version 1 Lorna McAdoo said the announcement was further good news after new business agreed in the areas energy, utilities and the public services.
"We have become more competitive in Northern Ireland and this, combined with hard work and commitment from our team, has led to several large contracts being awarded to us," she said.
We have very exciting times ahead," she added
Version 1 opened its first office in Belfast in 2012 with in a small serviced office with four staff. They grew rapidly and moved to Cromac Place in September 2014. Since then, they have built up a team of 60 staff and are hopeful of exceeding their target of 120 in two years.
The company currently has anticipated turnover of around £93m in 2017 and over 900 staff based in operations in Belfast, Dublin, Cork, Manchester, Edinburgh, Kent and Birmingham.
The firm has undergone rapid expansion in recent years, acquiring the Rocela Group, Patech Solutions and Beoley Mill Software, while back in April it announced the creation of 365 jobs over the next three years. This has been funded by a €90m investment by London-based investment firm Volpi Capital.
