COLERAINE firm Axis Bioservices Ltd is recruiting 10 new staff as part of a major investment to grow into new markets.

Axis, who specialise in preclinical research, offering clients a range of therapeutic models in oncology, inflammation and respiratory diseases is implementing marketing, R&D and IT investments as part of the expansion.

The new jobs will include scientists and administrative positions and are being supported by Invest NI.

Axis business director Catherine Maguire said: “Our aim is to establish Axis as a core provider of preclinical services to a wide range of customer including the Pharmaceutical industry, small Biotech companies and university research facilities."

Co-founder and director of science Dr Jenny Worthington added: “With Invest NI’s help we are investing in product development and making key appointments which will enhance our technical capabilities, while market research, development visits and participating in trade events in the USA and Europe is enabling us to attract more customers and increase our knowledge in the preclinical sector.”
