RECRUITMENT consultant Cpl Solutions International has warned that employers in Northern Ireland must act to modernise their approach to managing talent in the workplace.
New challenges include global and virtual workplaces, contingent workers, and the outlook of millennials which are shifting cultural work patterns in advanced economies.
Cpl say these changes are particularly relevant to revenue generating and high growth sectors in Northern Ireland including ICT, professional and scientific services, which account for around 11.5 per cent of the region's economy.
To support and empower employers, Cpl is hosting a talent management seminar in Belfast this Thursday in conjunction with global advisory and broking company Willis Towers Watson which will equip companies to adapt and evolve their workplace environment.
Áine Brolly, chief executive of Cpl in Northern Ireland, said: “The accelerated pace of innovation, shifting demographics and increasing demands for transparency in many areas, including rewards, are contributing to profound workplace shifts.
"With almost 40,000 people now employed in the local 'knowledge economy' which generates £5 billion in sales each year, Northern Ireland needs to be at forefront of such change.
"We are looking forward to hosting the seminar with Willis Towers Watson who will present their Global Findings Report which captured the perspectives of 2,000 leading global employers, who collectively employ nearly 21 million people worldwide.
"The findings from this research will guide employers in their efforts to develop a modern employee value proposition to enhance retention, improve engagement levels, and increase productivity and financial performance.”
