FOODSERVICE giant Mount Charles has completed a £360,000 refurbishment project at the employee restaurant at Moy Park in Dungannon following a recent contract renewal.
The business support services company, which has traded at Moy Park for nearly 30 years, was tasked with upgrading and rejuvenating the dining facilities.
The refurbishment, which took eight weeks to complete, involved a complete overhaul of the previous catering provision as well as extensive collaboration with Moy Park on both the aesthetics and the food offering.
Gary Maxwell, general manager at Dungannon, said: ‘We needed a catering provision that reflected the major investment we have made in our state-of-the-art primary processing facility.
"Mount Charles has certainly addressed this brief, providing Moy Park with a bright, modern and appealing restaurant with an offering that is based upon retail and consumer trends, rather than a traditional staff canteen.’
The Mount Charles ‘Kitchen’ concept, based on delivering good quality, fresh food, suitable for all Moy Park stakeholders, has been extended into the upgrade, while the interior now incorporates artwork featuring local landmarks from the area and iconic Northern Ireland scenes.
Cathal Geoghegan, managing director at Mount Charles, said: "We have a long and successful history with Moy Park. This considerable investment and extensive refurbishment demonstrates our commitment to a continued partnership with what is one of Northern Ireland’s leading private sector businesses.
“We have created a space that is appropriate for one of the UK’s top 10 food companies, generating a relaxed environment for the Moy Park team as well as enhanced menu choices to complement changing tastes and demands.
“As always, our focus for catering in the workplace is to provide locally-sourced food that is fresh, tasty and served quickly and we believe that the new menus and new surroundings are proving to be a hit with employees."
