SELECTIVE Travel Management in Belfast has secured a two-year contract worth £6 million to provide and manage travel services for Newcastle University.

It completes another record-breaking year for Northern Ireland’s largest independent travel management company, and sees its 2016/17 turnover increase by 21 per cent to just under £50 million.

“This is the second time we have held the contract and we're delighted to retain such a prestigious client," said Keith Graham, the firm's managing director.

“We have long been recognised as one of this region’s largest independent travel management companies, but are now also making our mark nationally, where we are now providing managed travel to government, B2B, Charity/NGO division and higher education.

“Newcastle University is a member of the elite Russell Group of Universities, the association of 24 leading research-intensive UK universities, each of which operates as a major ‘business’ as well as a centre for academic excellence.

“Retaining its business reinforces our growing pre-eminence in the academic sector, where we have outstanding expertise, and it adds to earlier wins including Queen’s University of Belfast.”

Selective Travel Management - which last year broke into Buying Business Travel’s prestigious Travel Management Companies Top 50 ranking - has an extensive client base serviced by 150 staff across four specialist divisions covering higher education, B2B, government and charity/NGO.
