There are now four accredited marketing study centres in Northern Ireland

THE Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Accredited Study Centre Network in Ireland has opened its fourth centre – one of two new centres developed in less than two years.

Located in Newry but drawing in students from Dundalk and Drogheda, the East Coast Marketing Academy is being operated by chartered marketer and experienced tutor Debbie Rymer.

Debbie, who has over 20 years association with CIM, has delivered CIM-accredited qualifications for over five years, as well as having a long-standing association with enterprise agencies across Ireland. She was also the driving force in setting up CIM in the Isle of Man.

As the centre’s owner and principal, Debbie will both oversee development at the study centre and will also deliver using her experience as a live marketing practitioner.

The new centre will offer intensive study options, from Level 3 Foundation Certificate in Marketing to CIM’s new Level 6 Digital Diploma in Professional Marketing and offers a range of flexible payment opportunities.

The East Coast Marketing Academy can also offer companies with large marketing teams in house CIM qualifications at their premises.

This development brings to four the number of accredited study centres in Northern Ireland. At present we have two in Belfast (at Belfast Academy of Marketing and Belfast Met) as well as the North-West School of Marketing in Derry. Belfast Academy of Marketing also has a provision in Coleraine.

The new Level 6 Digital Marketing qualification is available in Belfast, Newry and Derry through intensive boot camps and part time study.

The expansion in study centres here demonstrates that, as the largest professional marketing organisation in the world, our qualifications are in demand and best placed to prepare Northern Ireland, and the island as a whole, for challenges and opportunities such as Brexit, and the very fast moving digital marketing space.

As well as more study centre options, CIM has also recently expanded the number of exemptions and length of time university students can pick up via the CIM Gateway Programme.

This is alongside a monthly engagement programme which has served marketers with CPD provision, in the past 12 months over 800 students attended CIM events, with topics ranging from legal aspects of marketing, google analytics, leadership and video content.

In January we have already planned our first event in exploring the practical applications of Virtual Reality and Marketing in the new Immersive Lab, at the old Belfast Telegraph building.

CIM membership truly is the signal of a marketer, who in common with his/her industry, does not stand still.

East Coast Marketing Academy is holding a launch event on January 18 at 11am in Newry Conference and Banqueting Centre and is also holding taster sessions across all its offerings.
