A NEW £1.4 million indoor adventure golf course is now open in Belfast.
The Lost City Adventure Golf complex, the first of its kind in the north, is now open at Cityside Retail and Leisure Park and has resulted in the creation of 12 full and part-time jobs.
The tropical rainforest-themed leisure attraction, the brainchild of local businessman Lane Scott, houses two 18-hole indoor adventure golf courses, complete with interactive obstacles and special effects.
Belfast is the second location in the UK for The Lost City Adventure Golf, following on from its successful flagship venue in Nottingham, which opened in 2013.
Mr Scott said the new Belfast facility is targeted at those who want to have great fun and experience something completely unique.
"The arrival of The Lost City marks the introduction of a new type of entertainment venue to Belfast – the focus is entirely on having fun and challenging yourself to try something different.”
Since doors opened in late December, the course has exceeded all initial targets, welcoming visitors of all ages over a three week period.
Offering a truly immersive experience through the distinctive theme, the 36 golf-holes at The Lost City are suitable for ages 3 to 103. Interactive obstacles and player-triggered special effects, as well as the sights and sounds of the tropics, are set to entice visitors through the doors – and ensure repeat visits to the course in the months ahead.”
Hannah Crawford, General Manager of the venue, added:
“We are the perfect all-weather venue and, with no need to book for groups of less than 10, The Lost City is set to become the destination of choice for families, friends, work colleagues and students looking for a great day or night out in the city centre.”
Whitehead-based international themed-construction company, Best Contstrcutors were appointed to build the elaborate entrance and exterior façade of the new visitor attraction as part of the intensive four-month build.
