CARRICKFERGUS-based McCue Crafted Fit has been awarded the fit out contract for the new Lush cosmetics shop in Belfast city centre.
The fresh handmade cosmetics giant is relocating to bigger premises on Castle Lane, which will see the creation of the brand's largest shop in the north.
Work on the 10-week project commenced last week and will see the new store, which is adjacent to the brand’s current premises, transformed into a new store in keeping with Lush’s sustainability guidelines.
The Lush contract is the latest in a long line of major projects carried out by the Carrickfergus company, now a major player within the hospitality and retail sectors in the UK and Europe.
In recent times McCue has completed high-profile contracts, including the Signature Suites in the Shangri-La Hotel at The Shard, the iconic flagship Hamleys Toy Shop on Regent Street, both in London, as well as the upgrading and refit of areas of the luxury ocean liner Queen Mary 2. Closer to home it has also worked on the refit of Danske Bank branches across the north including the Belfast headquarters.
Speaking about the latest project, managing director of McCue Crafted Fit, Les McCracken said:
"We are delighted to fit out the new Lush store in Belfast. Having worked with Lush for many years throughout the UK, it’s good to be able to showcase our work for this brand, and our expertise, in Northern Ireland."
“As with all of our customers, we have built an excellent relationship with the team at Lush; this is fundamental to working with our clients and in each project we take a fresh approach and we’re not afraid to do things differently. This is a good project for Belfast and we look forward to our work with Lush in our home city," he added.
Lush is famous for its fresh handmade products and environmentally friendly practices. Since opening in Poole in 1995, the brand has grown exponentially with over 900 stores in 49 countries.
