BANBRIDGE outlet shopping centre, The Boulevard has reported a 25 per cent increase in turnover and strong growth in footfall according to its latest figures.
The shopping destination, rebranded from The Outlet in March has seen its turnover grow by a quarter over the past year and the centre is bucking the trend in retail footfall, reporting a 7.3 per cent increase. Since its purchase by the Lotus Group in May 2016 The Boulevard has enjoyed a consistent increase in footfall, with a 22 per cent jump recorded in two years.
The Boulevard has benefited from £7 million worth of high-level investments over the last 12 months, including
an expansion of the retailer offering, through recent store openings from adidas, Asics and Beauty Outlet, as well as shop refits from several existing retailers such as GAP, Paul Costello and Calvin Klein.
The positivity is set to continue with the imminent opening of the new Kurt Geiger outlet store on Saturday and further announcements to follow
The significant investment has also provided a number of further developments on site, including the installation of a new mall covering to provide a sheltered walkway for shoppers and a new guest services suite.
Alastair Coulson, managing director of owners Lotus Property said the latest figures show it is not all doom and gloom in the retail industry.
"At Lotus we have strived to stay positive and continued to push forward with our development and redevelopment plans at many of our retail destinations, no more so than at The Boulevard in Banbridge," he said.
“We are always focused on enhancing the shopper experience, really understanding what they want and have undertaken extensive customer research to ensure we can roll this out to create the perfect environment to maximise growth.”
