STELLAR-growth Belfast cosmetics firm BPerfect has secured a lucrative listing with Europe's largest independent online beauty retailer which will pitch its wares to tens of thousands of potential new customers.
The company, founded in 2012 with just £500 of his own cash by entrepreneur Brendan McDowell, is to flog its best-selling false tan and eye-shadow products through Beauty Bay, and joins an existing pool of 1,200 stores to be the latest stockist of the brand.
Indeed its newest product Carnival Palette, a unique collaboration with popular UK make-up artist Stacey Marie, sold out on Beauty Bay in less than three days (and BPerfect has six further products to launch by the end of 2018).
In the year to March, BPerfect enjoyed a period of achieve unprecedented growth, with turnover soaring by 740 per cent from £244,000 to £1.8 million against a target of less than half that.
Managing director Brendan McDowell - who famously once turned down a five-figure offer on RTÉ’s Dragon’s Den - said: “It's great to see customers outside the UK and Ireland getting behind our products, proving that a Northern Ireland business can make a huge impact on the global stage.
"We've gone from strength-to-strength and I'm excited BPerfect is available to customers across the world via Beauty Bay. I'm confident customers will love where we are taking the business, and we don’t want it to stop.”
Madeline Wahdan, head of new business at Beauty Bay, said: “BPerfect represents the ideal type of cosmetic brand for us as we engage it with a global market. Our customer base will love the wide array of its products and we're excited to see what is to come from the brand."
