A POPULAR Co Derry hotel has completed the first phase of a £300,000 refurbishment.
The Bushtown Hotel in Coleraine has revealed the results of phase one of its expansion programme, supported by First Trust Bank, with the hotel’s reception area and all 39 bedrooms renovated to provide guests with a modern experience in comfortable surroundings.
An already well-known entertainment venue, phase two will see the hotel remodel its restaurant and public areas to capitalise on the north's growing wedding industry, providing an all-inclusive venue for bridal parties and their guests.
Owners Kieran McGilligan and Dermot Friel also plan to strengthen their appeal to north coast day and event tourists by offering tailored packages aimed at encouraging visitors to prolong their stay.
Mr McGillian said the refurbishment is focused on modernising the hotel, while maintaining a traditional family feel.
"We have designed each bedroom to be completely unique and also offer six family combi rooms which can sleep a family of eight. This flexibility means we can cater for all our customers’ needs with facilities that well surpass the expectations of a three-star hotel.
“We are proud to have one of the most popular function rooms in Northern Ireland due to our ‘Bushtown Big Band’ evenings and our strong relationship with the country music community. This latest investment is just one step in an ambitious programme that will hopefully see us capitalise on this already strong reputation and our desirable location to extend our offering for weddings and for tourists exploring the north coast.”
