What was your first job?
I worked in Debenhams, Castlecourt. Little did I know then, that the contacts I made there would help me years later to launch my own brand into the UK market.
What qualifications do you have?
I have always had an entrepreneurial mindset. On completing my A Levels, I made the decision to go straight into the work place and start earning money.
What do you attribute your success to?
Self-motivation, from a young age I had a driving desire to create and lead. I have always been fearless in pursuit of what I want and have always believed in myself.
How would you describe yourself to someone who’d never met you?
Family orientated, self-starter, determined, spiritual and kind hearted.
Who do you look up to in business?
Tony Robbins, Jo Malone and Richard Branson.
How do you get the best out of people who work for you?
To lead by example. I find you get the best out of people if you take an interest and to really get to know your employees, creating an inclusive and welcoming working environment. Reward and praising is essential for team morale.
If you could change one thing about doing business in Northern Ireland, what would it be?
I have found doing business in Northern Ireland very rewarding. Other businesses are always ready to help and support local brands. Working alongside Invest NI, Intertrade Ireland and Antrim and Newtownabbey Bough Council has helped fast track my business in a very short space of time.
What website or app could you not do without?
Trello for organizing my work schedule and team.
What was the last book you read?
The Chalk Man by CJ Tudor.
What car do you drive?
GLC Mercedes.
Tell us something interesting about yourself?
I am passionate about giving back and inspiring others, that is why I have taken on the challenge of organising and hosting The Secret To Success. The event is aimed at budding entrepreneurs and those wanting to take their business to the next level. There will be a number of keynote speakers who are at the top of their game, be it in social media, marketing or finance. I want attendees to take away practical business advice and have a new passion for their business.
What’s your greatest passion outside work and family?
I love to socialize and eat out at least three times a week. I work out at the gym attending three HITT classes a week as well as an hour personal training and yoga. But my biggest passion is self-improvement which I practice every day.
