Europa manager McGinn appointed to board at Hastings Hotel Group

HOSPITALITY industry professional James McGinn has been appointed to the board of directors at the Hastings Hotel Group.

One of the most respected figures in the tourism sector, he joined the chain in August 1996 as quality development manager in the Europa Hotel under general manager John Toner.

He has since held the positions of general manager in the Stormont Hotel, Culloden Estate & Spa and the Europa, where he has been at the helm since 2003 (and will remain after this appointment).

Many still fondly recall his appearances in BBC TV fly-on-the-wall series about the Europa Hotel entitled 'Lobby Lives', which ran for 26 episodes from 2006 to 2008.

Hastings Hotels chairman Edward Carson said: “We're delighted James has been appointed as a director. He has been a committed colleague for over two decades and this is the right time to acknowledge his continuing contribution to the group."

James McGinn said: “I'm delighted to join the board and look forward to playing a significant role in the continued growth and success of Hastings Hotels.”
