MULTINATIONAL professional services firm Deloitte has launched its largest ever graduate academy intake in Belfast.

The company's latest skills academy is offering 50 graduates the opportunity to get involved in industry-leading technology consulting areas.

Supported by the Department for the Economy, participants will receive 10 weeks of industry-relevant pre-employment training at Belfast Metropolitan College and a guaranteed interview with Deloitte upon successful completion of the course.

Deloitte senior partner, Jackie Henry said local graduates have an excellent opportunity to forge a career in a growing industry.

“The Deloitte NI Technology Assured Skills Academy offers graduates the chance to be trained in the latest technology consulting areas, including software engineering, DevOps, data analytics and software testing. This is a high quality opportunity for graduates with no experience needed."

“This is Deloitte’s biggest Assured Skills Academy to date and testament to the firm’s continuing commitment to tapping into the breadth of graduate talent in Northern Ireland. Collaborating with Belfast Met with the support of the Department for the Economy enables us to do this and ensures we recruit the skilled staff we need to continue our growth," Ms Henry said.

Ann Williamson, head of employer skills at the Department for the Economy added:

“Assured Skills Academies help ensure there are people with the right skills available to businesses, enabling them to provide quality employment and career opportunities while supporting economic growth.

"This year more than 1,300 jobs have been promoted through Assured Skills Academies and we are continuing to work with businesses, Further Education colleges and universities to deliver further academies across a range of sectors.”

Applications for the Deloitte NI Technology Assured Skills Academy are open until Friday December 7.
