NEWRY-based technology firm Pearlai has formed partnership with Queen’s Management School at Queen’s University to help it further develop its new shopping product.
The retail technology company has for the last two years been developing VIP loyalty smart technology - the first of its king in the retail marketplace - in conjunction with a number of shopping centres throughout the UK.
By using the Pearlai platform, shopping centres now have the ability to turn anonymous shoppers into loyal customers. The centre then provides their best customers with a VIP keyring that enables that shopper to receive year-round exclusive offers and discounts via text message within the shopping centre.
Dr Barry Quinn, a lecturer in finance, and Dr Byron Graham, a lecturer in business analytics from Queen’s Management School, have been working with Pearlai to better develop the existing data that the company collects through their platform.
Peter McCaul, chief executive of Pearlai said: “Working closely with local experts like Dr Quinn and Dr Graham has provided new opportunities for the commercialisation of the data we collect through our product offering. It makes for exciting times in the retail technology space.
“Through the use of predictive modelling and analytics we have been able to help Pearlai better understand their data and have assisted in implementing processes to utilise the vast amount of retail data which their platform captures. This innovative technology will help draw customers back into the shops,” said Dr Quinn.
Pearlai was recently shortlisted for the ‘best shopping centre innovation’ at the International Retail Property Conference MAPIC awards in Cannes.
